Matt Haggman

Matt Haggman is a prominent leader in economic development and entrepreneurship. As Chief Strategic Initiatives Officer at Right to Start, he works to expand entrepreneurial opportunities across the U.S. Previously, as Miami Director at the Knight Foundation, he played a pivotal role in developing Miami's tech and startup ecosystem. At The Beacon Council, he led Opportunity Miami, shaping the city's economic future. Earlier, Haggman was an award-winning journalist at The Miami Herald, receiving the Gerald Loeb Award. He graduated from Stanford University with his PhD in materials science and from Caltech with his BS. He was selected for the Forbes 30 Under 30 and MIT Technology Review Innovators Under 35.
He holds degrees from Tulane University and Vermont Law School. Haggman is a founding Board Member of Endeavor Miami and co-founder of TEDxMiami, contributing significantly to Miami's business landscape.
