Born and raised in Colombia, Camila studied business and CS before beginning her career at NetApp in Munich, then joining Demodesk - a YC-backed AI meeting software startup - as an early employee, where she gained firsthand experience building a company from the ground up.
She went on to launch Symbia VC out of the Pfeifer Family Office, a deep tech fund focused on industrial technologies, climate innovation, and material sciences. The experience sharpened her conviction that the most important companies being built today are those rebuilding the physical world.
Camila moved to the US to pursue a Masters in Finance & Analytics and joined the secondaries fund PVC as an intern before transitioning to Allocate's investment team, where she helped grow the platform from $600M to $3.6B AUM through investments in VC funds and growth-stage companies.
She joins Avila VC with a rare combination of operator-side experience, deep tech conviction and institutional investment fluency. Based in the Bay Area, she is fluent in Spanish, English and German and conversational in Portuguese.
