Ally Yost
Technical Advisor
Ally Yost serves as an SVP of Business Development at Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) where she brings over a decade of experience working on the commercialization of scientific and engineering breakthroughs. Yost leads business development strategy and company financing strategy and investor engagement.
Prior to CFS, Ally was a founder and Principal at The Engine, the venture fund spun out of MIT, helping to build out the foundational initiatives of The Engine and investing in the climate, human health, and hardware infrastructure sectors. While there, she also co-developed an entrepreneurial curriculum focused on Tough Tech commercialization dedicated to scientists transitioning to entrepreneurs. Prior to The Engine, Yost worked with another MIT spin-out, Accion Systems, leading all of the R&D and manufacturing of key thruster components for the company’s novel electric propulsion for satellites. She also worked as a research scientist with GoogleX and on spacecraft propulsion for NASA.
Yost is also an advisor to the Clean Energy channel of MIT's venture studio, Proto Ventures.
Yost earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.
